The D3 has a look you either love or hate. The tongue is padded, the faux-leather side paneling is sturdy and the toe cap is practically indestructible. The inside includes mesh paneling for more air flow, and the ankle is SO padded, we'd bet they could double as emergency flotation devices. The mesh paneling utilizes an 8-point ventilation system for enhanced breathability.

The D3 2001 has a special sole construction. An "anti-impact" system with multiple helium chambers extends throughout the foot and turns the shoe into an impenetrable fortress of safety. The stabilizing midsole and an EVA insole do their part in adding even more padding to the shoe overall.
